Family: Ciconiidae

Diet consists mostly of food leftovers, fish, termites, frogs, lizards, rodents, snakes and birds (incl. flamingos). Gathers around carcasses to eat them. Colonies most commonly have 20-60 individuals but occasionally colonies of thousands of marabous have been reported. Oldest marabou reported in the wild reached the age of 25 and in captivity 41 years.
