Pygmy marmoset

Cebuella pygmaea

World’s smallest monkey. Up to 9 individuals live in a family where only one pair is reproducing. Pygmy marmosets live an undercover life in dense shrubbery where they never touch the ground. Older siblings help take care of the younger ones. When born, pygmy marmosets spend their first 6 weeks on the backs of their father and the mother only nurses them.
