Family: Old World monkey (Cercopithecidae)
A group of red-tailed guenons consists of up to 35 individuals with one male and several females. These species spend most of their lives up in the trees and can share their territorials with other monkey species. Occasionally some hybrids come up with the blue monkeys (Cercopithecus mitis). Red-tailed guenons have been used in laboratory tests when researching virus infections.
