White-faced muskox

Ovibos moschatus wardi

Family: Bovidae

Inhabitant of the Arctic areas who can withstand any cold weather due to its thick fur. Icy and thick snow can cause problems to gather food as it is hard to find anything to eat under it. When in danger the herd does not run away but forms a circle with the offspring in the middle. Because of this hunters shot down whole herds. Fortunately the species has been introduced back to its original habitats and some new areas as well.
