Supporters & friends

The FTZ (Friends of the Tallinn Zoo) was founded on March the 16th, 1996 by a group of nature enthusiasts and activists of Tallinn Zoo, with a goal to unite people interested in Tallinn Zoo and its development. Another goal of FTZ is to promote the living conditions of birds and animals at the zoo,  educate young people in the fields of zoology, ecology etc. We wish that thanks to FTZ the Tallinn Zoo would become more attractive for the visitors. Members of our society could act as zoo guides and encourage the animal adoptions by enterprisers, who would provide sponsorhip for feeding of the animals and at the same time publicize their own ventures.

Compared to similar societies of friends of zoos in Europe, where the lists of members contain thousands of names, we still have much room for growth. We can easily say the same thing about the Tallinn Zoo.Our good location and large territory helps us to develop the zoo into an even more modern establishment where nature and animals are truly cherished. Proposals from all members of FTZ are most welcome.
